Install in four steps

  1. Run the installer

    The installer wizard and its licence agreement are in English. Accept the agreement and finish. AutoCAD can stay open: the installer does not change files that a running AutoCAD has loaded. AFDIM itself starts in English, or in Vietnamese on a Windows set up for Vietnam. Its settings dialog has a language list in the header; translations other than English and Vietnamese are drafts.

  2. If Windows or an antivirus warns

    The installer is code-signed by TO VAN TIN. The certificate is new, so Windows may still say that it protected your PC, and an antivirus may flag the installer by mistake. First compare the SHA-256 value above and check that the publisher is TO VAN TIN. If both match, choose More info, then Run anyway, or allow the file in your antivirus.

  3. Restart AutoCAD

    Close AutoCAD completely and start it again. AutoCAD looks for plugins at start-up. If it asks whether to load AFDIM or trust its publisher, check that the publisher is TO VAN TIN and the path contains …\ApplicationPlugins\AFDIM.bundle\…, then choose the option that always loads it. The AFDIM ribbon tab then appears and the AFDIM command is ready.

  4. Activate the trial

    AFDIM needs a licence to run, and the first one is free: run AFDIM and click Start 7-day trial.

A licence comes before the first run

AFDIM does not run without a licence. After installing, click Start 7-day trial: in the window that opens when you run AFDIM, or in Settings › About. The computer needs an internet connection. The trial starts at once, with every feature, for 7 days. Each computer gets one trial, and a trial is not extended.

After that, updates come from inside AFDIM

Installed copies check a signed update feed. An orange dot on the Settings button tells you that a new version is available. Update now on the About tab installs it while AutoCAD stays open, and it takes effect at the next AutoCAD start. You do not need to come back here for updates, unless your IT department installed AFDIM for all users.
