One developer. One product. Direct support.
AFDIM is built, sold and supported by a single developer in Vietnam, for drafters and fabrication shops everywhere. The person who answers your email is the person who wrote the code.
Why AFDIM exists
Dimensioning a finished flat pattern is routine work. The geometry is already right, and a drafter knows where every dimension belongs before placing it. It still takes hours, and it has to be done again after every revision.
AFDIM removes that step. It reads the outline that is already in the drawing, builds its topology, recognises the features, and places dimensions, callouts and centrelines according to a drafting standard. It is written in C# on .NET and runs inside AutoCAD®, AutoCAD® Mechanical, ZWCAD, GstarCAD and BricsCAD.
AFDIM checks its results instead of assuming that they are correct. Every change to the dimensioning engine is replayed on several hundred drawings, and a change that makes any layout measurably worse is not released.
What the name means
AFDIM stands for Automatic Feature-based DIMensioning. “Feature-based” is the whole idea: AFDIM does not dimension edges one by one. It recognises what a part is made of — a slot, a bolt-hole pattern, a bend line — and dimensions each one the way a drafter would state it.
Principles
The rules AFDIM follows
Leave the drawing as it was
AFDIM adds dimensions, callouts and centrelines. It never moves, trims or deletes your geometry, and it explodes blocks in memory only.
Leave ordinary objects behind
Everything AFDIM places is a native object of your CAD application. The drawing opens without AFDIM installed.
Ask before collecting anything
The support zip and the geometry export say what they contain and ask first. Nothing leaves your computer unless you send it.
Answer support from the source
There is no ticket queue. A bug report reaches the developer who can reproduce it on the real geometry and change the code.
Who builds AFDIM
AFDIM is built by one engineer, working from Vietnam and selling worldwide. There is no sales team and no support tier. Email sent to support@afdim.com is read and answered by the person who writes the code.
Licences are granted by that developer as an individual. If AFDIM grows into a company, the licence agreement already provides for your licence to carry over to it.
