Buy a licence

Buying AFDIM has two parts. First you pay online. Then you enter the licence key that you receive by email in AFDIM, on the computer that will run AutoCAD®. You need no request code, and you can buy before you install AFDIM.

1. Pay

Choose a plan on Pricing and click its Buy button. Paddle’s checkout opens over the page. You can also click Buy / Renew in AFDIM. It opens the Licence page, which has the same button under the plan.
Enter your email address, your country and the payment details. Prices exclude tax: the checkout adds the tax of your country and shows the total before you pay. For a company invoice, fill in the company name and tax number there.
Pay. Paddle emails your receipt with the order number.

Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for every AFDIM order: it is the seller on your receipt, takes the payment, issues the invoice and handles refunds. The developer does not take payments directly. See the Terms of Service.

Each computer needs its own licence key. To buy for several computers, place one order per computer, or email support@afdim.com first.

2. Receive the key and activate

The licence key has the form AFDIM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. It is emailed automatically after Paddle confirms payment, to the address you gave in checkout. If it does not arrive, check spam, then contact support with your order number. The delivery commitment remains within 3 business days, including support for failed delivery.

The 12 months of updates of a perpetual licence count from the purchase, not activation. Its single self-service computer move is also available only in the first 365 days after purchase. Renewing updates does not restore that move or extend its window. Quarterly and yearly keys allow 2 self-service moves in any 365 days. Every self-service move requires 30 days on the current computer. See Move to another computer.

Then do the following on the computer that will run AFDIM:

Install AFDIM if it is not installed yet.
Click Settings on the AFDIM ribbon tab. The settings dialog opens.
Go to the About tab and click Enter licence key….
Paste the key and click Activate. The computer must be online for this step.

If the About tab has no Enter licence key… button, your AFDIM is older than licence keys. Update it first:

In the Updates group of the same tab, click Check now.
When Update now appears, click it.
Close AutoCAD completely and open it again.

You can also install the latest version from Download. On a computer where IT installed AFDIM for all users, ask IT to do this.

The licence key belongs to the first computer that activates it. See Activate a licence. To use the key on another computer later, see Move to another computer.

If you were on a trial, the new licence replaces the trial licence. You do not need to reinstall AFDIM.

A computer without internet

On a computer without internet, ask with a request code instead of a licence key:

On the About tab, click Request licence. AFDIM shows the request code.
After you have paid, open the Licence page on any computer with internet. Paste the code, choose Buy a licence, enter your Paddle order number and send the email that the page prepares.
You receive the licence file, license.json, by email. Load it with Load licence… on the About tab.
